Our infectious diseases R&D program consists of three components - antivirals, pathogen inactivation fo the safety of blood products and biologics, and vaccines:

• Developing antiviral and antimicrobial therapeutics from library of unique marine microorganisms and medicinal plants

Utilizing patented microbial cell disruption and fractionation technologies for the rapid and selective isolation of semi-purified marine molecules

R&D portfolio includes anti-HIV, anti-influenza, antimicrobial and anti-fungal leads

• Developing pathogen inactivation and decontamination technologies        

Purely physical technique - does not depend on heat, irradiation or chemicals

Inactivates both enveloped and nonenveloped viruses without damaging or denaturing proteins

Utilized for for blood products, biologics and medical devices

Decontamination of heat-sensitive and radiation-sensitive materials

• Developing prophylactic and therapeutic vaccines for infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS and Influenza [U.S. Patent, 2006]
