Corporation has developed and licensed a process for the recovery
of sclareolide from clary sage bush (Salvia sclarea)
extracts to RJRNabisco, Merry Hill, NC. Sclareolide
is used as a fixative or base in the perfume industry, replacing
the expensive ambergris believed to originate in the intestines
of the sperm whale, an endangered and rapidly vanishing species.
Nabisco
Group Holdings Corp. (NYSE: NGH) has completed the spin-off
of its domestic tobacco subsidiary, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco
Holdings, Inc., to shareholders. With the completion
of the spin-off, RJR Nabisco Holdings Corp. (NYSE:RN) changed
its name to Nabisco Group Holdings Corp. and the company’s
shares will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the
symbol “NGH.” Nabisco Group Holdings owns
approximately 80 percent of Nabisco Holdings Corp., the parent
company of Nabisco, Inc., one of the world's major manufacturers
of cookies, crackers, snacks, and premium grocery products.
